How do I enable or disable Friends and Leaderboards on my library’s site?

Toggling friends and leaderboard settings on the library admin view (1)

If you would like to enable or disable the Friends and Leaderboards feature, which allows your readers to add friends and track their reading activity on your library’s Beanstack site, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to the admin view of your library site.
  2. Navigate to Setup > Logging Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the three Friends and Leaderboards options—Display Friends, Display Leaderboards, and Display Logged Books To Friends—and toggle on or off each setting to activate or deactivate the features. You can enable or disable the ability to add friends, display leaderboards, and display friends’ logged books separately.
    • Note: You can also set your Reader Leaderboard Settings from here. You can select which log type(s) your leaderboard will display: Books and/or Minutes. Note that you will only want to check off the log type(s) that you have active on your site.
  4. Click “Save.”

Note: Individuals under the age of 13 who are library account creators under the age of 13 are unable to access Friends and Leaderboards. However, readers under the age of 13 will still have access to Friends as long as our system determines that they are not the account creator (i.e., there is an older reader on the account).
